The family of a 16-year-old student of CAC Grammar School, Akure, Ondo state capital, has been thrown into mourning after the student fell and died while playing with his schoolmates on Tuesday, January 11.
The deceased, identified as Emmanuel Ojo, a Junior Secondary School three student reportedly fell and hit his head on a concrete floor while playing on the school premises. He was said to have been rushed by the management of the school to the University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital, Akure, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Ondo State Ministry of Education in a statement said the ministry was pained by the death of the student and urged Emmanuel’s parents to accept the situation as ‘the will of God’ at the moment, though painful.
Pastor Joshua Ojo, the father of the late student described his son’s death as a cruel blow of fate on the family but said he could not query God on why He allowed it to happen to him.
