The Commission would like to notify the public that the Local Government Area (LGA) training for Supervisors and Enumerators, initially set to begin on April 13th, 2023, has been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. A new date will be announced in the near future.
We assure all Nigerians of the Commission’s dedication to delivering a reliable and widely accepted 2023 Population and Housing Census, with all necessary preparations underway.
As a result, we kindly request that you disregard any information conflicting with this announcement. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused to the involved parties.
NATIONAL POPULATION COMMISSION 2023 TRAINING UPDATE: TIMETABLE & ALLOWANCES FOR SUPERVISORS AND ENUMERATORS
The National Population Commission (NPC) has released an updated timetable for the training of Supervisors and Enumerators for the upcoming census in 2023. The training schedule includes refresher training for Data Quality Managers (DOM) and Specialized Workforce (SWF) at the state level, as well as the census proper. This post provides an overview of the training dates and allowances for Supervisors and Enumerators.
Training Schedule:
- Refresher Training for Data Quality Managers (DOM) and Specialized Workforce (SWF) at the state level:
3rd April – 6th April, 2023. - Supervisors and Enumerator Training on Building Numbering and Household listing:
25th April – 30th April, 2023. - Census Night:
2nd May, 2023. - Census Proper:
3rd May – 6th May, 2023.
Allowances for Supervisors and Enumerators: The National Population Commission has also released the allowance details for the Supervisors and Enumerators participating in the training sessions and census.
Supervisor Allowances:
- Feeding: N2,000 x 5 days = N10,000
- Transport: N20,000
- Training Allowance: N65,000
- Total: N95,000
Enumerator Allowances:
- Feeding: N2,000 x 5 days = N10,000
- Transport: N20,000
- Training Allowance: N50,000
- Total: N80,000
The National Population Commission has outlined the training schedule and allowance details for Supervisors and Enumerators involved in the 2023 census. This information is essential for all involved parties to ensure proper planning and preparation for the upcoming census activities.
The National Population Commission has officially activated its e-recruitment platform, which will be used to recruit ad-hoc staff for the national population and housing census that will take place in 2023. The Chairman of the National Population Commission, Nasir Isa-Kwarra, made this point clear while he was speaking at the launch of the portal in Abuja. He emphasised how important it is to have the best hands possible working on the census.
Inuwa Jalingo, the Census Manager, stated that the Commission is anticipating receiving over 25 million applications for the vacant jobs and that the process needed to be competitive, fair, and transparent. “The implementation of an e-Recruitment approach is to ensure broad applications from all across the country, minimise bias, and ensure that all qualified Nigerians are given equal opportunity to apply and be recruited and that no one is left behind,” he stated.

General Application Requirements are:
- National Identification Number
- Valid and Functional Gmail Account
- Valid and Functional Phone Number
- Valid and Functional /Operational Commercial Bank Account (No student/NYSC Account)
- Valid Educational Qualifications.
- Access to and knowledge on the use of computers, tablets & smartphones is an added advantage.

How to Apply for NPC Recruitment
NPC Recruitment Screening Procedure
- The Recruitment Review Team would examine, and screen applicants based on their NIN, documents (School Certificates), and photo passport.
- First-level screening would be conducted on the portal by filtering the applicants based on the stated requirements.
- Physical screening would be conducted at the LGA’s designated centres.
- The LRRT is composed of:
- LGA Comptroller Chairman
- One NPC Desk Officer Secretary
- Designated LGA Staff
Prospective Ad-hoc staff can only apply on the census portal in areas where they are residents and will be deployed accordingly.

- Candidates should possess relevant qualifications.
- There will be temporary system closure of the e-recruitment portal for internal review of the recruitment process from 7th November to 13th November 2022.
