Eligibility:
UTME candidates who possess five ‘O’ Level credits including Maths and English and scored 150, and above points in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and DE candidates who choose Adamawa State University, Mubi as their most preferred Institution (First Choice).
Candidates who did not choose Adamawa State University, Mubi but are now willing, are advised to log onto JAMB website and effect their first choice of Institution to Adamawa State University, Mubi.

About ADSU
Adamawa State University, Mubi was established in January 2002 by the Adamawa State University law No. 10 of 2001. The University is located in Mubi town, in the Northern Senatorial District of Adamawa State, Nigeria. Mubi is geographically located within latitude 10.27 and longitude 13.28 and has an elevation of 1906 feet above sea level situated at the foot of the Mandara Mountains separating Nigeria from the Republic of Cameroun. It is characterised by a pleasant weather and beautiful scenic horizons. The town is the sect of the Emirate of Mubi with a First Class Emir.
Adamawa State University, Mubi is the first State Government owned University in the North East sub-region of Nigeria. Since establishment, the University has graduated a total of four sets of students, 67 in 2005/2006 session, 200 in 2006/2007 session, 309 in 2007/2008 session and 353 in 2008/2009 session totalling 929 graduates. At present, the University has a total of 4, 600 undergraduate students and 384 pursuing Postgraduate Diplomas and higher degrees. The total number of academic staff of the University is 229 supported by 52 visiting and 7 part-time lecturers. These are complimented by 166 senior non-academic staff and 281 junior staff of different cadres.

Since 2002 when Adamawa State University, Mubi was established, the Institution has been striving to meet the stated goal of providing “Education for Development”. However, the University is concerned with its commitment to the immediate environment, mindful of our position as a tertiary Institution of learning with universal responsibilities.
We are therefore working towards establishing a world class University that addresses our local problems within the context of intellectualism that is broad based and international in outlook.
We have therefore defined our purpose, as a citadel of learning geared towards achieving the ideals of developing academic and professional abilities of our staff and students, to give them competitive advantage in an ever changing world. Our focus is now geared towards Agriculture, which is the main stay of our people and ICT which is the future path to human development.
Ours is a commitment to development within the context of present realities and the expectation of the future. In this brief brochure we have attempted to present some of the necessary information that will be helpful in making informed decisions on matters relating to our triple Information Brochuremandate of Teaching, Research and Community services. It gives you a brief on our uniqueness as a very promising University located in a serene, peaceful and accommodating environment.

Background
Adamawa State with a population of about 2.5 million, has a land area of 42,159 sq. km located within the Savannah belt of Northern Nigeria. The State has enormous agricultural potentials including livestock and fisheries.
Location of University
Adamawa State University is located in Mubi, the headquaters of the North Senetorial District of the State, which was once a constituent of the German Territory of Northern Cameroun. Mubi town was the provincial capital of the erstwhile sardauna province. The town is situated at the foot of the Mansara Mountains separating Nigeria from the Republic of Cameroun. The town has a pleasant weather and scenic horizons. There is a rich traditional culture of the local peoples, with a paramount first class traditional ruler, the Emir of Mubi.
Why Adamawa State University?
The State has continued to make steady progress in the area of enrollment of pupils in primary and secondary schools. The University is intended to provide additional places for the increasing number of students seeking admission, which currently is not being adequately met by Federal Universities located in the country’s North Eastern geopolitical zone. However, the state is endowed with abundant natural and mineral resources. Financial capital and suitably trained manpower are key requirements for harnessing the enormous resource potentials of the State.
ADSU shall not only produce the desired manpower possessing requisite skills and orientation, but shall itself be fully engaged in extension delivery and service to the community. The University shall promote true liberal scholarship and pursue national and international collaboration and linkages with other institutions for all its programmes. The assistance of philanthropists, non-governmental agencies, National, International, and multi-lateral organizations etc. shall be courted and jealously guarded.
Mission, Vision and Objectives of the University
The Mission of the University is the production of graduates of the highest standards in all fields of study. The graduates shall be trained and oriented to utilize modern technological and management tools for societal development. The overall goal is towards iADSUstrial production, thereby creating employment opportunities in a technology driven sector for alleviation of poverty.
The objectives of establishing the University has been articulated, and center in the main, on qualitative and functional education within the context of building a harmonious and prosperous State.
The overall Vision of the University is to bring together diverse minds and nurture potential talents for the exploitation of the bountiful resources of Adamawa State.
In conclusion, we intend to harness all available resources in order to develop a University of the highest standards, conscious of the need to nurture linkages and collaborations. Partnership with agencies and bodies within and outside the country is identified as a key ingredient of this pursuit.
Programmes of the University
At full development, which is envisaged within the next decade, the University shall have nine (9) No. Faculties, a college of Medicine, and a School of Foundation and Remedial Studies and Three Research Centres. Although ADSU was conceived as a conventional University, emphasis shall be on applied sciences and professional courses.
In order to address some of the needs and harness the resources of the State, the Centres for Solar Energy Research and Development, Livestock and Dairy Products Research, and Agriculture Research and Development shall be established. The post graduate school is expected to come on-stream by the 2006/2007 academic session, to coincide with the graduation of the first set of matriculating students.
Vision
Adamawa State University is established as a tower for intelligence development, to train men and women on the acquisition of appropraite skills, abilities and competence in cognitive, affective and psycho-motor domains in order to equip them to contribute meaningfully to the development of their immediate communities in particular, Nigeria and world at large. The programmes of the University are designed to inculcate the proper values and attotudes for ensuring the socio-economic development of the country.
Mission Statement
The Mission of the University is the production of graduates of the highest moral and academic excellence. The University shall pursue policies that will enhance highest standards in humanities. sciences, engineering, agriculture and other fields of human endeavour. Its graduates shall be trained and oriented to utilize modern technological and management tools for societal development. In particular, academic activities and research activities shall be geared towards poverty reduction, food security, employment opportunities, employment generation and raw materials production for iADSUstries.
