The attention of the University of Lagos has been drawn to a viral message on Social Media with the above title, claiming that a ‘qualified applicant with a JAMB score of 326 was not offered admission by the University.
Please note that the admission process of the University is based on clearly stated and widely-circulated requirements, guidelines and timelines.
The University wishes to clarify that although details such as name or JAMB registration number was not indicated in the viral message, a back-end search of the University’s database of applicants using other parameters yielded an applicant who failed to upload her O’level results on CAPS before the widely-publicised deadline for the 2022 UNILAG admissions exercise. At the expiration of the deadline, the University could not capture the applicant from CAPS as a qualified candidate that has met the requirements for offer of admission.
While the University appreciates the plight of the applicant, it is unable to take any further action on this 2022 admission exercise.
Management wishes to assure candidates and the general public that the University remains committed to its hallmark of transparent, credible and open admission process.
