The lawyer representing the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Femi Falana has revealed that the academic union will be suing the federal government for approving the registration of two factional unions, the Congress of Nigerian University Academics (CONUA) and the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics (NAMDA).
Falana who revealed this during a television interview on Thursday, October 6, said ASUU will be approaching the National Industrial Court (NIC) over the registration.
He had earlier stated that the registration of CONUA and NAMDA is illegal, as only one union is allowed to operate in every sector under Trade Unions Act.
ASUU president, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke also confirmed the development.
