The Oyo state police command has denied the viral report that herdsmen invaded Community Secondary School in Alaropo Nla in the Orire Local Government Area of the state on Thursday, March 30.
Earlier reports had alleged that suspected herdsmen invaded the school farm with their cattle on Thursday morning, injuring some of the school teachers and students who wanted to prevent their cattle from grazing.
Reacting to the report, the police command spokesperson, SP Adewale Osifeso, said the herdsmen were peacefully grazing their cattle outside the vicinity of the school when people began to raise a false alarm. He added that no one was injured and a team of police officers were sent to the school and it was discovered that nothing of such happened.
Osifeso maintained that there’s peace in the area and the state is still enjoying the peace witnessed during the recently concluded 2023 General elections.
