UNIPORT IITD Courses
- Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in International Trade and Development.
- Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in International Trade and Development
- Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in Customs Administration/Border Management.
- Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in Ports Management and Maritime Administration.
- Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in Shipping and Maritime Security.
- Ph.D Programme in Trade and Development Finance
Duration of UNIPORT IITD Programme
The duration of the Programme for PGD and M.Sc is 12 calendar months. The duration for the Ph.D is a minimum of 24 calendar months and a maximum of 60 calendar months.
UNIPORT IITD Admission Requirements
- PGD Programme in International Trade and Development: Candidates must possess a good honours degree in any of the following fields from a recognized university: Economics, Political Science, Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, History, Geography or related field or Law not lower than 3rd Class. Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized institutions and who passed with a minimum of upper credit are also eligible for admission.
- M.Sc Programme in International Trade and Development: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with Second Class Honours in Economics, Political Science, Finance, Foreign Languages, Accounting, History, Marketing, Management, Geography or related field or Law from recognized institutions. However, candidates in the trade related industry with at least five years working experience with degrees outside the disciplines mentioned above can also be considered for admission into the programme. A CGPA of not less than 2.50 point on a five (5) point scale of the University of Port Harcourt or other institutions recognized by the Senate.
- M.Sc Programme in Customs Administration/Border Management, Ports Management and Maritime Administration and Shipping and Maritime Security: Candidates must possess a good bachelor’s degree in any field of the Social Sciences or Management Sciences. Also, good degree in some selected field in the Arts/Humanities; including History, International Relations, Law etc with a CGPA of not less than second class lower on a 5-point scale from a reputable University, shall be considered.
A good degree in Education or Business with cognate work experience in Customs, Immigration, Navy, Nigerian Port Authority or any trade related industry with at least 7 years working experience. Third Class Honours Degree in any of the above fields and evidence of Post Graduate Diploma in relevant fields, shall be considered.Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Upper Credit in related field of study and evidence of Post Graduate Diploma in relevant fields, shall be considered. - Ph.D Programme in Trade and Development Finance: Candidates should possess the Institute’s M.Sc Degree in International Trade and Development with at least a CGPA of 3.50. Applicants with M.Sc Degrees in Economics, Marketing, Management, Accounting, International Finance, International Relations or Mathematics with a CGPA of 3.50 will also be considered for admission into the programme.
