The president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), comrade Sunday Asefon, has lambasted the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) for the declaration of an indefinite strike at the detriment of Nigerian students
Asefon, in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 31st, described the indefinite strike as ‘unpatriotic, unnecessary, and immoral’, and called on state-owned universities who had join the strike in solidarity to resume school activities.
According to the student union president, it is easy for ASUU to declare an indefinite strike after six months of closing schools because majority of ASUU members are working at various private universities across the country.
