Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa is currently recruiting for the posts of Polytechnic Librarian and Bursar.
Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, is a Nigerian tertiary institution often known as FedPolyNas or just FPN. The Federal Government of Nigeria created the institution on July 1, 1983, to promote technological growth in society.
Polytechnic Librarian Job at Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa
The Polytechnic Librarian is the Chief Library Officer and is accountable to the Rector for the administration of the Polytechnic Library and the coordination of library services throughout the Polytechnic’s teaching units.
He/she is one of the Polytechnic’s Principal Officers. In addition to demonstrated experience in library management and leadership, successful candidates must be credible and have a genuine love for scholarly undertakings.
Academic Qualifications and Qualities
The candidate for the post must possess the following qualification and qualities:
- A Doctorate Degree (PhD) from a recognized institution in Library Science or Library and Information Science;
- A Masters Degree from a recognized institution in Library Science or Library and Information Science;
- Have a minimum of second class lower division degree or a minimum of Lower Credit in Higher National Diploma (HND) in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized institution;
- A minimum of eighteen (18) years teaching experience in tertiary institutions, at least eight (8) years of which must have been gained in a Polytechnic or similar TVET Institution.
- Be currently on the rank of a Chief Librarian from the Polytechnic sector with not less than three (3) years’ experience on the rank. Not more than Fifty-Nine (59) Years of age as at the date the post will become vacant 9
- Demonstrate evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership initiative and creativity in Library Policy Formulation, good human relation and positive managerial attribute
- Provide evidence of Membership of Professional body/bodies in Library recognized by Federal Government
- Provide evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals as well as presentation of invited papers at educational/library conferences, seminars and workshop;
- Be a person who is not likely to pursue, radial, gender, political, religious or other sectional interest
- Be morally sound, of impeccable character, proven integrity and free from financial embarrassment;
- Be physical and mentally fit with evidence from a government hospital; and
- Be proficient in Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Terms of Appointment
- The appointment is for a single tenure of five (5) years in line with extant provisions.
- The salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy any other benefits attached to the position of a Principal Officer of the Polytechnic as approved by the Federal Government

Bursar Job at Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa
The Bursar is the Polytechnic’s Chief Financial Officer. He/she is accountable to the Rector for the day-to-day management and control of the Polytechnic’s financial concerns.
He/she is one of the Polytechnic’s Principal Officers. He/she is in charge of the Bursary Department and the Polytechnic Finances.
Qualifications and Experience
The candidate for the post must possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- A First Degree with at least a second class lower division or Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a lower credit in Accountancy or Finance related courses from a recognized institution of higher learning;
- Have a minimum of twenty-two (22) years post qualification cognate experience for first degree and HND holders in Accounting or similar discipline ina Polytechnic or similar TVET institution;
- Registration with ICAN or ANAN or ACCA or CIPF or ICMA or ICPA or any other recognized professional accounting body/bodies by Federal Government;
- Be currently on the rank of Deputy Bursar or Deputy Director (Audit) for a period not less than four (4) years in a tertiary institutions of learning;
- Be provident in information and communication technology (ICT) skills and packages
- Not more than fifty-nine (59) years of age asat the date the post will became vacant;
- Demonstrate evidence of strong financial and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in financial policy formulation, good human relation and positive managerial attributes;
- Be knowledgeable in the Financial Rules and Regulation of the Polytechnic system;
- Be a person who is not likely to pursue, racial, gender, political, religious or other sectional interest
- Be morally sound, of impeccable character, proven integrity and free from financial embarrassment and;
- Be physically and mentality fit with evidence from a Government hospital.
