No fewer than four students have lost their lives after a school building at Diamond Grammar College, Ikang in Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State collapsed on Friday, March 25.
According to reports, the building collapsed while students were writing an exam in the school, and while two of the victims died on the spot, the other two died on the morning of March 28 from injuries they sustained from the unfortunate incident.
Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner for Quality Education, Mr. Godwin Amanke, said the state government is working with the authorities of the school to ensure such a tragedy never happens again.
