The National Universities Commission (NUC) has disclosed that the curriculum for Nigerian Universities has been upgraded with additional 50 programmes added.
The Executive Secretary of the commission, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, made this known after a meeting held on Wednesday, February 9, in Abuja. With the upgrade, the number of programmes has been increased from 188 to 238, while the curriculum was increased from 14 to 17 disciplines.
The upgrade comes after the NUC in 2021, inaugurated a team of experts drawn from various disciplines in Nigerian Universities to create the new Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards for Universities. Following the conclusion of the review, the committee turned in their report to the commission.
