A final year student in the Department of Library and Information Science of the Bayero University Kano, named Babangida Ahmad, has died after he collapsed in his hostel in the early hours of Friday, January 28, while preparing to go to the mosque for morning prayers.
Ahmad was said to have been rushed to the university clinic for medical attention by his friends but was confirmed dead on arrival at the clinic.
His demise was confirmed by the Secretary, Information, and Publication of the University, Bala Abdullahi, in a statement issued on Friday, January 28. The statement also added that deceased parents have been contacted, and he has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
Before his demise, Ahmad has been visiting Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) to see doctors on an undisclosed ailment.
