The University of Lagos will be churning out the first set of graduates in Entrepreneurship and Skills Development. The students, numbering 217 according to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe FAS cut across different faculties of the University and their convocation marks a major success of the university management’s resolve to create new set of vibrant business owners and wealth creators rather than job seekers.
The 217 students who would be receiving certificates in Entrepreneurship aside their degrees are part of the 12,217 total population who made the convocation list for the 2019/2020 academic session of the University of Lagos.
Speaking on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at a Pre-Convocation Press Conference to outline activities for the University’s 52nd Convocation Ceremonies, Prof. Ogundipe informed journalists that of the total population of graduating students, 7,799 will receive first degrees or diplomas while 4,418 will receive postgraduate degrees.
He noted that the Convocation Lecture slated for Monday, January 17, 2022 and titled: Building Back Better: Creating a New Framework for Tertiary Education in Nigeria in the 21st Century, will be delivered by the Speaker, House of Representatives, and a 1983 Law Graduate of this University, Right Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila while Honourable Justice Amina Adamu Augie, CON, of the Supreme Court will preside as the Chairman.
