The Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, on Monday approved the appointment of Professor Ige Olugbenga as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).
In a press statement on Monday in Akure, Mr Richard Olatunde, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the appointment took effect from Wednesday for a single term of five years.
Prior to the appointment, Ige was appointed as the acting vice-chancellor of the institution following the expiration of the term of Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun.
The statement read, “The governor’s approval is in line with the exercise of his power under Paragraph 3 (8) of Schedule 1 of Adekunle Ajasin University Law.
Akeredolu assured the university community of his administration’s commitment to prioritising home-grown eggheads for effective management of the institution.
While congratulating the new vice-chancellor, Akeredolu charged him to work assiduously for the development of the institution.
