As it is the tradition of the university, the 36 Convocation Ceremonies have been scheduled to hold from Friday 15th to Friday 29th October, 2021, with the grand finale holding on Saturday 23 October, 2021 (Founders’ Day) when degrees, diplomas and prizes will be awarded to deserving graduates. The ceremony will be hybrid (.e. virtual and physical).
The University opted for the hybrid programme due to the prevalence of the Delta Variance of the COVID-19, which has been declared to be more virulent. Indeed, statistics of death emanating from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is quite alarming and the University, as a responsible institution should not be seen to violate the “no large gathering directive of the Federal Government of Nigeria. For those allowed to process and enter the Auditorium, strict non pharmaceutical protocols will be adhered to, including social distancing.
To ensure that the majority of Graduands and their guardians are not disadvantaged, the convocation can be watched virtually through: UNILORIN YOUTUBE Channel@ The UNILORIN and UNILORIN Official Facebook page @ UniversityOfilorin. Details of the programme is overleaf.
Thank you.
