The first aviation and aerospace university in Nigeria, African Aviation and Aerospace University Abuja (AAAU), has received a provisional license from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to begin operations in the country in July 2021. The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, made the disclosure in Abuja on Friday, July 2.
The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, in the concept note received from Sirika in Abuja assured the public that the first African university dedicated to aviation and aerospace study would be in place by the end of this month.
Rasheed further reinstated that the commission would engage some professors to perfect the concept note for immediate approval, as he stressed that the value of such a university could not be quantified.
