A member of staff at the Lagos State University (LASU), Mr. Ademola Adesola, lost his life while queuing in a bank within the school premises to withdraw money.
Confirming his death, the Head of the Publicity and Public Relations Unit of the university, Mr. Jeariogbe Olaniyi, said the incident happened on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, 30 minutes after the deceased arrived at the bank.
He explained that the Grade Level 13 officer drove himself to the school in the morning around 11.30 am, and was queuing to withdraw the sum of N5000 when he suddenly slumped. He was then rushed to the school’s medical center but all efforts to revive him proved abortive.
He added that Mr. Adesola joined the service of the university as a typist in 1986 and rose to the Chief Executive Officer (Account) in Grade Level 13.
