Professor Anthony Eze, a lecturer at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State, was on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, killed by gunmen suspected to be assassins.
The deceased who was a lecturer in the Faculty of Education was reportedly shot four times in his chest, leading to his death.
According to reports, the lecturer was driving out of his house in the early hours of Tuesday, when the assailants invaded his residence with a Toyota Corolla car. When he attempted to flee, the assailants shot him at close range, targeting his chest area.
The gunmen were said to have fled the scene as soon as they executed their plot while the lecturer was rushed to the General Hospital Amaku where he was confirmed dead by the doctor.
The Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, UNIZIK, Chika Ene, who confirmed the incident said she was yet to receive full details.
