There was chaos at the University of Ibadan main gate today, February 6, when a group of people protesting against the economic hardship currently being faced in Nigeria blocked the school entrance and obstructed vehicular and human movement.
The protesters who are believed to be members of the community where the university is situated were said to have been dispersed by soldiers and Operation Burst officers as the gathering was termed unlawful.
Speaking on the development, the university’s Communication Officer, Mrs. Adejoke Akinpelu, said the protesters were not students of the school as its students were currently sitting for exams and had no time for such.
She described the protesters as miscreants who gathered themselves to cause problems.
