A 29-year-old 400-level student of the Federal College of Education, FCE, Katsina, Laminu Saminu, has been arrested by the police after he allegedly killed one of his friends and coursemate, Sanusi Bawa, an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Saminu who also works as a teacher in a primary school in Katsina state confessed to having killed Bawa by serving him locally made cow milk known as, ‘Fura da Nunu,’ after mixing it with rat poison because he wanted Bawa’s car.
It was gathered that Saminu lured Bawa to an uncompleted building and served him the poisoned cow milk after which the deceased became unconscious. The suspect proceeded to hit Bawa with a wooden plank on his head several times until he died. He then threw Bawa’s body into a well and covered it with sand and took his car.
Saminu was arrested after he called Bawa’s wife requesting the documents of the Volkswagen Golf Saloon car.
