An official of the National Examinations Council (NECO) Mr. Vincent Odinko, was on Friday, November 4, shot dead by suspected armed robbers who invaded the University of Ibadan staff quarters.
It was gathered that the gunmen broke into the boys quarters (BQ) of a staff building where the man lived with his family and shot him dead. He was said to be working on his laptop when the armed robbers broke into his home carting away his laptop and the phones of all the house occupants.
The deceased was a worker in the SSCE Internal Unit of NECO, Ibadan branch, while his wife is said to be a UI staff member.
The Oyo state police Spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso, who confirmed the incident, said they have launched an investigation to track down Odinko’s killers.
