A final year student of the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba, Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, was on Thursday, April 6, stabbed to death by an indigene over a N1,000 payment misunderstanding.
The deceased, simply identified as Temitayo, a student of the Department of Physics Electronics was stabbed multiple times with scissors around Ebenco filling, opposite Akua junction, Akungba. He was rushed to Aduloju Hospital along Iwaro Road where he later succumbed to his injuries.
It was gathered that two people had a financial dispute and the student stepped in as a guarantor for the party who was owing the money with a promise of settling the bill.
He was said to have paid N3000 out of the N4000 owed, and when he couldn’t pay the outstanding N1000 balance, an argument ensued between him and the perpetrators which resulted in a fight that led to his death.
His friends have since taken to Facebook to mourn his demise.
