The attention of the Management of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri has been drawn to insinuations that it has not paid its Affiliation Fees to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and that it is the reason why its students of BD/2015 who finished their final exams in 2019 have not been mobilised for NYSC.
The College Management wishes to quickly inform all concerned that the College has completed all its financial obligations to the University of Nigeria as regards affiliation. The fact of the matter is that a combination of the ASUU strike and last year’s lockdown because of COVID-19 delayed the processing of the results which are done in conjunction with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka for the B.ed degree students. Right now the College awaits the approval of the University Senate, which will happen anytime soon, following which the students will be mobilised for the November batch that the UNN reserves for students from its affiliate institutions.
The College Management wishes to inform the affected students and the general public that the College has been working very hard alongside the UNN to ensure a speedy resolution of all challenges promising that the Statement of Results will be issued once the Senate puts its final stamp of approval on the results and all corrections effected.
We urge that everyone remain calm and exercise some patience as the delay is indeed one of the fallouts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
