A lecturer with The Polytechnic, Ibadan was left fighting for his life after an attack carried out by armed robbers in the early hours of Monday, December 20.
The polytechnic’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Soladoye Adewole, who confirmed the incident said the attack occurred at about 12:30 a.m at the North campus of the polytechnic.
According to reports, the robbers invaded the institution’s staff quarters and carted away properties worth millions of naira. A lecturer in the Department of Biology, Mr. Okedara Emmanuel, was shot during the attack and later rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan for treatment.
Adewole added that no life was lost and the matter has been reported to the police and security has been scaled up at the campus.
