The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has announced the commencement of a 2-week warning strike with effect from Monday, 16th of May 2022.
This was contained in a statement released after an emergency meeting of the Union’s National Executive Council on Wednesday, 11th May.
According to the statement, the federal government is yet to meet the union’s demand, and the two weeks warning action is meant to prompt the government to do the needful after which an indefinite shutdown of polytechnics may be eminent.
