The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has extended its ongoing industrial action indefinitely until the Federal Government meets its demands.
This was revealed by a member of the union who spoke anonymously to Channels Television following a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the striking university lecturers held at the University of Abuja today, August 29.
This recent development follows the reports of the congress held in various universities across the country which voted in support of continuing the strike
The strike began on February 14, 2022, and has now entered its 196th day.
The lecturers’ agitations include funding for the revitalization of public universities, earned academic allowances, University Transparency Accountability Solution, promotion arrears, and others.
