Gunmen enforcing a sit-at-home order in celebration of ”Biafra Day” invaded some schools in Onitsha and some parts of the Idemili area of Anambra State and chased students out of their classrooms on Tuesday, May 31.
They were also said to have invaded markets and public places where people were chased away
May 30 is set aside yearly to celebrate Biafra Day but this year’s edition coincided with the Monday sit-at-home currently being observed in the southeast. The enforcers thereby moved the ”Biafra day” to May 31st stating that Monday’s sit-at-home didn’t count.
It was also gathered that there are heavy shootings between security agencies and the gunmen in the Idemili area.
