The Department of Nursing Sciences, faculty of Allied health sciences, Bayero university kano, is pleased to announce to the general public that the Department is ready to commence the following PhD Programmes, for the 2021/2022 Session;
- Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Medical Surgical Nursing
- Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing
- Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Community Health Nursing
- Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Maternal and Child Health Nursing
- Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Nursing Education
- Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Nursing Administration
- MPhil/Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Medical Surgical Nursing
- MPhil/Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Nursing Education
- MPhil/Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Maternal and Child Health Nursing
- MPhil/Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Community Health Nursing
- MPhil/Ph.D. Nursing Science with specialization in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
CATEGORY A: The following shall qualify for PhD Nursing Science:
- Candidates must satisfy the university minimum requirement into undergraduate programme
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.Sc Nursing/ B.N.Sc) degree and M.Sc degree in Nursing or Master degree in related disciplines (with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a scale of 5.00) from Bayero University or any other recognized university (such related MSc degree must be relevant to the candidate’s proposed area of nursing specialization).
CATEGORY B: The following shall qualify for PhD Nursing Science:
- Candidates that graduated with BSc Nursing on or before year 2000 in any Nigerian university (recognized by Senate) who possesses no credit in Physics and Chemistry in 0′ Level WASC/SC, but possesses a total of five credits including English Language, Biology/Health Science and any other three subjects may be considered for admission to PhD programme of Bayero University, provided such candidate graduated with MSc Nursing with CGPA of not less than 3.50 on a 5 point scale from any university recognized by Senate.
CATEGORY C: The following shall qualify for MPhil/ PhD Nursing Science:
- Candidates must satisty the university minimum requirement into undergraduate programme.
- Candidates with master degrees in related disciplines with minimum CGPA of 3.00 shall be admitted into the M Phil/PhD Nursing Science programme during which the candidate must register and pass all the M.Sc. Nursing courses as required. To continue with the PhD on completion of the course work, such candidate must obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Step 1
Visit: http://mybuk.buk.edu.ng/bukforms2013/, Click on the Register Tab on the left navigation panel to go to the Create an Account Page. At the Create an Account page, create an account by providing your First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Personal Email and Personal GSM Phone Number. A Login credentials (username and password) will be generated for you. Please take note of them, as you need them for subsequent steps of the application process. Use Login Tab on the left navigation panel to login to your account (using your login credentials) to start/continue your application process.
Step 2
Print your Personalized Payment Invoice and go to any branch of any of the banks listed on the payment invoice nationwide to make a non-refundable payment of Twelve Thousand Naira (N12,000.00) Only
Step 3
Return to the Login Page and login with your username and password to fill in the Application Forms:
- Programme Selection Form
- Personal Data Form &
- Qualifications Form
Step 4
Transcript Request Form shall also be filled in addition to the forms listed in Step 3 above.
Step 5
Review all your forms to ensure accuracy of all information before submission.
Step 6
Print an Acknowledgement Slip and keep it safe. The slip will be needed during the collection of admission letter and during registration.
