Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa (FEDPONAS) notice of closure of the institution due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on the increase in the cases of infections across states of the federation and with the recent happenings in the campus, the Top Management Committee, acting on the directive of the Federal Ministry of Education at its 86th Emergency Virtual Meeting held on Thursday, 14th January 2021, has approved the closure of the Institution for ALL CATEGORY OF STAFF (except those on essential services) with effect from Thursday, 14-25 January 2021 for fumigation exercise before the resumption of full academic activities.
Equally, students are advised to stay away from the campus until further directive from the Federal Ministry of Education on the resumption date. In addition, the Security Operatives are expected to maintain surveillance in and around the campus and ensure that both staff and students comply with this directive.
In view of the foregoing staff members are hereby advised to sustain Management efforts by ensuring strict compliance with the COVID-19 preventive measures by
- Undergoing Self Quarantine if exposed to people who were contagious with the virus for two weeks:
- Regular washing of hands with soap and water,
- Mandatory use of face mask The use of hand sanitisers
- Avoiding crowded places
- Ensuring respiratory hygiene and the intake of diets that boost immunity amongst others
Please, it is EXPECTED that we all take RESPONSIBILITY for our actions as defaulters would be SANCTIONED accordingly!
