A group of bribe-seeking policemen have been arrested and detained over the alleged extortion of a student simply identified as Ibrahim.
The spokesperson of the Oyo state police command, Adewale Osifeso, who confirmed the arrest said the student was extorted of his school fees along the RCC, Old Ogbomoso Road, Oyo State while he was traveling to Lagos state.
It was gathered that the policemen numbering five, singled out the student among other travelers and ordered him to disembark from the vehicle, while other passengers were asked to continue their journey. He was then taken to a nearby bush where they extorted N90,000 from him
Osifeso further disclosed that the extorted sum has been recovered and they are waiting for Ibrahim to officially identify the arrested policemen so that prosecution procedures can be initiated through an orderly room trial.
