The University Management has approved the appointment of Professor Christian Ikeobi as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
He succeeded Prof Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale following the expiration of her tenure.
Professor Ikeobi who is of the Department of Animal breeding and Genetics, College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM), was the former Dean of his College.
The new DVC (A) has impacted the University positively serving in various capacities which include; Member, Governing Council, University Orator till date, the University’s Chaplain and until his appointment, Director of Institute of Food Security, Environmental Resources and Agricultural Research (IFSERAR).
His duties as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is not limited to matters relating to academic policies development, administration and review, undergraduate and postgraduate course work programmes, examinations, admissions, coordination and academic oversight of educational activities of other campuses, liaising with relevant University’s commercial arms to provide strategic overview of academic development and planning, representing the Vice-Chancellor when required ,as well as chairing of all ad-hoc reviews as delegated by the Vice-Chancellor.
