A final-year student of the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, Suleiman Abdullahi, has been kidnapped by gunmen while returning to school following the suspension of the 8-month ASUU strike.
The Department of Geography student was kidnapped along the Shinkafi-Sokoto road in Sokoto State on Monday, October 31st, and his relatives had been unsuccessfully trying to negotiate with his kidnappers to secure his release.
This comes after a group of UNN students who were returning to school alongside other travelers were kidnapped by suspected herdsmen along the Ugwuogo-Nike/Opi/Nsukka Road on Sunday, who then demanded a ransom of N300 million.
