The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), reportedly instructed all first-class graduands who had a CGPA of 4.5 and above, to write a qualifying exam in order to prove that they merited their first-class status.
This, however, did not sit well with some of the students who criticized the move just before the exam started, saying the information about the test was vague and on short notice. Others welcomed the idea, stating that they were always ready to defend their results.
Some of the students who sat for the test said it lasted for 45 minutes and was based on quantitative reasoning.
The school had introduced the program following concerns that certain factors may have influenced the first-class degrees obtained by some students.
