The Rector, Arc Olusegun Aluko, Ph.D has declared that henceforth presentation of evidence against COVID-19 is one of the prerequisites for writing examinations by the students of the institution.
The Rector made this declaration during the flagging off ceremony of the COVID-19 MASS VACCINATION FOR TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS in Ogun State by the Hon. Commissioner of Health, Dr. Tomi Coker.
The Rector reiterated that the institution has been actively involved in the war against covid-19 since the virus reared its ugly head late in 2019 with the designing and fabrication of carious covid-19 preventive and management equipment such as the ventilator, hand washing, and sanitizing machine electrically operated disinfectant booth among others. He, therefore, assured the Commissioner of the readiness and willingness of both staff and students of the Polytechnic in the success of the vaccination process.
In her remarks, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker eulogised the institution and its management for not only its academic excellence but its forefront status and cooperation in the fight against the dreaded Covid-19 virus
She also hinted that to emphasize the importance of vaccination exercise, the state government has given civil servants and other state holders in the state six months ultimatum to either get vaccinated or be denied access to government services and activities.
Present at the flagging off ceremony were members of the institution’s management team, top functionaries in the state’s ministry of health and representatives of the World Health Organization.
