Latest: JAMB Registration Statistics for UTME Candidates Of Each State
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the number of registered candidates in each of the states across the country. This was revealed in the JAMB bulletin made available on the JAMB’s website.
Based on the statistics obtained from JAMB on the 2023 UTME registration data, Lagos has the highest number of registered candidates followed by Oyo State. Both had 270,573 and 94,911 registered candidates respectively.
The Statistics equally showed that Borno and Taraba states have the least number of registered candidates with 16,793 and 16,687 respectively.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that about 1.6 million candidates have registered in the UTME registration. This was made known by the Registrar of the Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede at the end of a joint monitoring exercise with the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr David Adejo, in Abuja on Monday.
Prof. Oloyede reiterated that there will be no extension of the deadline for the 2023 UTME registration, while warning centres against extortion of candidates.
The total number of registered candidates is expected to be made know after the deadline on February 22nd, 2023.
Oloyede further disclosed that the Direct Entry registration has commenced since on Monday February 20th.
The Registrar also stated that the monitoring exercise has helped to discover 15 culprits were trying to defrauding the process, adding that the culprits have been apprehended and were currently detained.
The JAMB exam comes up on April 29th, 2023 and will run until Monday May 12th, 2023.
