The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted approval for Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management to commence National Diploma programmes, effective from 2022/2023 academic session.
The new National Diploma programmes comprise of:
>National Diploma Library and Information Science;
> National Diploma Accountancy;
> National Diploma Computer Engineering Technology;
>National Diploma Electrical/Electronics Engineering; and
> National Diploma Computer Science;
With this development, the Institute has now obtained a dual license to operate as a full-pledge Polytechnic, to offer National Diploma programmes and Innovation Enterprise Institute (IEI), offering National Innovation Diploma programmes simultaneously.
The unprecedented success being recorded is sequel to the five-year development plan initiated by the current Rector, Dr. Babangida Abubakar Albaba to enable the Institute fulfill its constitutional mandate in building reputation of Katsina State on the global stage as a Technology development hub.
With the introduction of the five new National Diploma programmes following the amendment of the Institute’s enabling law, KSITM has now fulfilled the requirements to be enlisted as a beneficiary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) Intervention to complement the funding effort of the State Government.
