The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has arrested a 21-year-old student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Taoheed Garba, for allegedly stealing his girlfriend’s money and gold chain.
According to reports, Garba had transferred the sum of N341, 000 on two different occasions from the bank account of his girlfriend, Simiat Adebayo, without any trace, and also stole a gold chain worth N250,000.
His girlfriend was said to have requested an account statement from her bank, which consequently showed that Garba was behind the missing money. Upon confronting Garba, she was mercilessly beaten which prompted her to make a formal report leading to his arrest on Wednesday, May 12.
During interrogation, Garba admitted to having stolen the money, and gold chain which he sold for N105,000, but denied beating miss Adebayo. He explained that he needed the money to enroll in the School of Aviation.
