The Polytechnic Authority’s attention has been drawn to the abuse and corruption involving academic staff in the area of final year students’ projects. Academic staff have been repeatedly reported to have soiled their hands deeply in this regard.
This unfortunate development is Gross Misconduct as spelt out in Chapter 11.1(6) of Regulations Governing the Conditions of Service for both Senior and Junior staff of the Polytechnic which attracts summary dismissal. The Polytechnic Authority will therefore not hesitate to apply the law strictly to erring staff.
Meanwhile, final year students’ projects have been suspended until further notice. To enforce this decision, the Students’ Union Government and other Students’ Association Executives have been empowered to monitor and expose any violator of this lawful directive.
