The Lagos State Ministry of Education has extended the deadline for the registration of the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). This was contained in a statement issued by Orunsolu Adebayo, Director of Lagos State Examinations Board.
The board informed Public Junior Secondary Schools, approved Private Junior Secondary, and Special Schools that the deadline earlier fixed for April 14 has been extended to April 28.
According to the statement, the extension became necessary due to the hitches encountered by schools arising from the Central Bank of Nigeria’s cashless policy which made the registration processes cumbersome for most schools, and epileptic Network Services
The director added that the government did not wish to deny any school and its candidates the chance to participate in the examination, hence the need for the extension. All affected schools were encouraged to use the opportunity as excuses will not be entertained after the expiration of the new date.
