Lagos State University (LASU) has announced plans to hold an Orientation and Matriculation Ceremony for the 2022 Modular Year of its Sandwich Degree Programme. The dual events are set to take place on Friday, 26th May 2023, at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, situated in the University’s Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
Orientation Ceremony
The Orientation Ceremony, which serves as an introduction to the University’s culture, expectations, and resources, is scheduled for 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Students participating in the programme are advised to be seated by 9.00 a.m. This event is designed to help new students understand the University’s academic policies, community standards, and various student support services.
Matriculation Ceremony
Following the Orientation Ceremony, the Matriculation Ceremony will commence at 2.30 p.m. Students are expected to be in the Auditorium by 2.00 p.m. The Matriculation Ceremony is a significant event in the University’s academic calendar. It marks the formal admission of students into the Lagos State University academic community.
Students of the Sandwich Degree Programme will take the Matriculation Oath, thus becoming full-fledged students of the prestigious Lagos State University. This ceremony is a rite of passage for every first-year student and a moment to be remembered.
Both ceremonies are of great importance and attendance is mandatory for all concerned students. The dual events serve as an opportunity to welcome students to the LASU community and officially usher them into their academic journey.
Students are advised to adhere to the stated time schedules and to be prompt, as lateness would not be condoned. For further information, students are advised to visit the University’s website or contact the Sandwich Degree Programme office.
