Maritime Academy Post-UTME Form for 2022/2023 Session
Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron Post UTME screening details for all UTME admission-seeking candidates is now available as has been announced by the institution. All concerned aspirants and interested members of the public that wish to study in the institution are hereby notified and advised to procure their forms as soon as possible.
Maritime Academy of Nigeria hereby invites candidates who sat for the 2022/2023 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, choose the Academy as their First(1st) Choice Institution and score above the required cut-off Mark for POST UTME into various National Diploma (ND) programmes of the Academy for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.
The online registration for the Maritime Academy of Nigeria Post-UTME Screening Exercise for the admission into National Diploma (ND) programmes for the 2022/2023 Academic Session will commence on the 12th September 2022 to 11th October 2022.
The duration of National Diploma (ND) programmes is two (2) years, divided into four (4) semesters.
The following programmes are on offer:
- Nautical Science
- Marine Engineering
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Maritime Transport and Business Studies
Eligibility:
Candidates who select Maritime Academy of Nigeria as their First (1st) Choice Institution in the 2022 UTME and scored above the required cut-off Mark as stated below are eligible for post-UTME registration.
UTME Cut-off mark
a. Nautical Science – 175
b. Marine Engineering – 175
c. Electrical/Electronic Engineering -175
d. Maritime Transport and Business Studies – 160
MODE OF CORRESPONDENCE
Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must have a functional and accessible electronic mail address (E-mail) and mobile phone number for correspondence. Candidates are not required to present themselves physically except on invitation through the Website Publication and E-mail/text messages.
MARITIME ACADEMY OF NIGERIA O-LEVEL SUBJECTS AND UTME SUBJECTS COMBINATION
i. NAUTICAL SCIENCE
O-LEVEL SUBJECTS
Applicants Must possess Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include.
– Mathematics
– English Language,
– Physics
– Geography,
– and any other related Science subjects obtained within the last Five years in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
UTME Subject Combination:
o English Language
o Mathematics
o Geography
o Physics
ii. MARINE ENGINEERING AND ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING
O-Level Subjects
Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include:
– Mathematics;
– English Language,
– Physics,
– Chemistry
– and any other related Science subjects obtained within the last Five years in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS

iii. MARITIME TRANSPORT AND BUSINESS STUDIES
O-Level Subjects
Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include:
– Mathematics,
– English Language,
– Economics,
– Geography/Commerce.
– and any of Geography, Commerce, Government, Financial Accounting and Business Management obtained within the last Five years in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.

o Geography/Commerce/Government/ Principles of Accounting
5. PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL FITNESS
Due to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as International Convention on Standard of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) as amended which mandates all seafarer to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigours/challenges of the cadetship training. Consequently, shortlisted candidates will be required to present themselves for physical and medical screening when invited.
Candidate should print-out Application Medical Examination Form (Form M) from the application portal. This form should be duly completed and signed before upload on the portal.
Candidate are expected to undergo the following medical tests at any Government Hospital and upload medical results on the application portal.
- PCV
- VDRL
- HBV
- HIV1/2
- PT (Pregnancy Test for Females)
- URINALYSIS
- GENOTYPE
- BLOOD GROUP
The results uploaded on the portal is subject to further confirmation when invited for Screening.
Marital Status Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the programme.
Age Limit
– Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Marine Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as at 31st October 2022 Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as at 31st October 2022.

Eligible candidate should take the following steps to start their registration procedure:
1. Click on Admission – HND/ND Registration Portal
– Login with UTME number as Username and Jamb Score as Password
– Generate a Payee ID and Print the Payment Slip
– Proceed to any of the banks listed on the dashboard to make payment using eTranzact Payment Platform or pay online
– Return to the Academy Portal to complete your Registration.

The Maritime Academy of Nigeria, formerly known and addressed as the Nautical College of Nigeria, was established in 1979 by the Federal Executive Conclusion No.EC.(77) 172. It was designed as an integrated institution for the education and training of shipboard officers and ratings shore-based management personnel. They graduated its first batch of Cadets in 1983.
In 1988, the status of the college was raised by the promulgation Decree No. 16 of 1988 with a statutory mandate to train all levels and categories of personnel required for the effective and efficient operation of all facets of the Nigerian maritime industry.
