McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State has received full accreditation for six of her academic programmes presented for re-accreditation exercises in April 2021.The National Universities Commission (NUC) had visited the Campus of the 9-year old University for re-accreditation exercises in April, 2021.
In a letter dated August, 2021, NUC congratulated the McPherson University on the success and stated that the Full accreditation status for the six programmes presented for the exercises would cover a period of five years. The programmes that secured FULL accreditation again are: History & International Studies, Religious Studies, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Accounting and Banking & Finance. Other courses like Mass Communication, Physical & Computer Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, English Language, International Relations had earlier secured Full Accreditation as well.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Agunbiade, announced the NUC decision to the University Senate on Thursday, August 12, 2021 and commended the Deans, Head of Departments, other Faculty members and other members of staff for working diligently to achieve the success. Professor Agunbiade described the Full Accreditation as an endorsement of the University’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, community service and human capital development. He charged members of staff to continue to raise the flag of excellence in teaching and research. According to him, the vision of McPherson University and the values guiding its operations necessitate continuous development of pedagogy and research and strict adherence to global best practices.
“McPherson is a vision-driven University with a difference. I am delighted that we have achieved another great feat by securing full accreditation of the courses presented for accreditation. With this development, all programmes in this University have received FULL accreditation status. We will continue to work harder to impact the lives of our students, staff and the host community”, he added.
