In view of the postponement of the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections by the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from 11th March 2023 to 18th March 2023. I write to notify that the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the Senate approved a minor adjustment of the academic calendar to accommodate the extension. To this effect, the election break will now end of 19th March 2023 instead of 14th March 2023 as earlier scheduled.
Consequently, full academic activities will now resume on Monday 20th March 2023. As usual ,all offices in the University will remain closed during the period of extension.
However, Staff on essential duties such as security unit, those in charge of power and electricity supply, the University Health services, the University Farms are required to be on duty.
The security unit is expected to ensure proper surveillance on campus and designated places during the period.
