The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Shuaibu Ibrahim, during the 2022 NYSC yearly management conference, held in Abuja, raised alarm over the poor conditions of orientation camps facilities across the country.
Ibrahim who noted the various achievements of the scheme said it has been plagued by the non-discharge of statutory responsibilities by some critical stakeholders. He explained that the scheme was facing the problem of dilapidated Orientation Camp facilities, inadequate Corps Lodges and lack of befitting office accommodation in some states.
He also mentioned the provision of start-up capital for corps members after the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills as a major challenge it is currently faced with.
