The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has accredited five new courses at the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, bringing the total number of accredited courses in the polytechnic to 35.
The institution’s Rector, Dr. Olufunke Akinkurolere, confirmed this in a chat with newsmen, saying the institute was determined to build graduates that could compete favorably with others around the world and the new courses would begin in the 2021/2022 academic session.
Akinkurolere explained that OGITECH now offers Mass Communication at both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels, Urban and Regional Planning, Marketing, Quantity Surveying, as well as Building Technology as new programmes for the institute.
The accreditation exercise comes after a recent visit by a team of NBTE to the institute for a resource inspection.
