A National Diploma (ND1) student of the Department of Mass Communication, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree simply identified as Omowunmi has reportedly died after visiting her boyfriend at his house.
According to another student identified as Toba, Wumi who lived around Gaa Fulani, off-campus was rushed out of her boyfriend’s residence after a brief illness, and was said to have been taken to the hospital, but was rejected and she eventually died in the car.
Following her demise, they have been widespread speculations that the student was killed for alleged rituals purposes by the said boyfriend. It has also been alleged that the duo only started dating about two weeks ago, and the yet-to-be-named boyfriend had gifted the deceased student an iPhone 12 mobile phone, and a N1 million cash gift.
The polytechnic’s spokesperson, Mr. Tope Abiola who confirmed the death of the student said the police have taken over the case for proper investigation and the boyfriend of the deceased student has been arrested and he is being interrogated.
