No fewer than fifteen members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been rescued by men of the Nigerian police after they were abducted by gunmen along Isseke, Ihiala road, Anambra state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the command spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Tuesday, February 14. The statement stated that the corps members were kidnapped after the conclusion of their three weeks orientation course on February 14 by the gunmen.
They were on their way to Lagos when the vehicle they boarded was intercepted at total junction Ihiala, in an unmarked white Toyota Hilux. It added that the armed men abandoned the corps members and zoomed off when they noticed they were being followed by Police Operatives.
