Men of the Nigerian Police have rescued four out of six schoolchildren that were kidnapped from Local Government Education Authority Primary School, Alwaza, in the Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, on January 20, 2023.
The pupils were rescued through a combined effort of hunters, police, and traditional rulers two weeks after the armed men invaded their school premises and whisked them away to an unknown destination.
Speaking to the press, the state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Yakubu Lawal, said that since the incident occurred, the government had been on its toes to ensure that the pupils were rescued unhurt.
The victims, Awazi Emmanuel, Success Ogah, Dominion Alhaji, and Success Emmanuel have since been taken to the hospital for medical examination and will be reunited with their parents afterward.
