The President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Lawan during a courtesy visit by the Coalition of Northern Groups Students Wing(CNG-SW) led by its National Coordinator, Jamiu Aliyu Charanchi, promised that lawmakers would look into the indiscriminate increment of registration fees by tertiary institutions, especially in the northern part of the country.
Lawan who made the disclosure on Wednesday, Feb 2 in Abuja, said the Senate would swing into action by engaging the relevant authorities with a view to preventing anything that could cause disruption in their learning process.
The senator said a hike in fees was very unnecessary at the moment and believes that the government must prioritize education, by not only establishing the Institutions but in supporting students all the way.
