Sokoto State University, SSU post UTME and Direct Entry Screening form for the 2022/2023 academic session has been released. SSU post UTME form is now available for purchase online.
SSU Post UTME Screening Eligibility Criteria
This is to bring to the notice of all candidates who applied for admission into the Sokoto State University. Sokoto through 2022 UTME and DE and chose the University as their most preferred Institution (i.e. first choice), with the minimum score of 140 in UTME, Lower Credit in HND/ND, Merit in NCE and 6 points in IJMB in relevant areas from a recognized tertiary institution, that the online screening exercise for admission into the University for the 2022/2023 Academic Session commences on Monday 12th September and ends on Saturday 31 December, 2022.
How to Apply for Sokoto State University Post UTME Screening
Step 1:Visit the University Portal at https://portal.ssu.edu.ng
Step 2: Enter your JAMB Registration Number as username and password.
Step 3: Click on ‘Update Data’ link to update your phone number and email address.
Step 4: Generate and print your screening payment invoice of the sum of Two Thousand Naira (2.000) only (transaction charges exclusive) containing Unified Payment (UP) Reference Number. Thereafter proceed to any commercial bank on your invoice to make payment or click on ‘Pay Now’ link to pay using any of the instant unified payment channels.
Step 5: After payment. login to your account again and update your biodata. academic records and other required information. D.E candidates are required to upload their A’level certificates/results (Diploma, NCE, IJMB, etc). Print your acknowledgement slip and payment receipt for record purposes
Step 6: The screening is strictly online, and no examination will be required of applicants at any time.

About Sokoto State University (SSU)
Sokoto State University (SSU) is located in Sokoto, Sokoto State in Nigeria. It was established in 2009. Arising from the insatiable quest of the people of the State for education and excellence, the idea of establishing the Sokoto State University was conceived, articulated and executed by the then Sokoto State Governor Aliyu Wamakko when he established the Sokoto State University Implementation Committee in 2008. The Committee was charged with the responsibility of:
- Planning for the structure and facilities for the effective running of the University,
- Seeking for and obtaining approval from the Federal Government for Sokoto State to run its’ own University aside, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, which is Federal and in which the indigenes of the State were marginally placed over the years arising from the Federal Character Principle; and
- Establishing the Sokoto State University School of Developmental Studies with the sole aim of preparing students, a one-year pre-degree programme before enrolling into the university.
The approval was granted in 2009, the School of Developmental Studies (now State College of Basic and Remedial Studies) kicked off September 2012, and the Sokoto State University starts its academic activities with an inaugural orientation in the 2013/2014 academic session precisely October, 2013.
